Alfred Elementary School &
Shapleigh Memorial School!!

             As the Guidance Counselor at Shapleigh and Alfred, I am available to support        students at school to help them have a positive school experience. 
Whether students need support socially, emotionally, or behaviorally,
a guidance counselor is a resource for all students in the school. 

Classroom Guidance
    As the guidance counselor, I meet with all students weekly
during ‘classroom guidance.’  During classroom guidance, students
learn and practice skills such as conflict resolution skills, making and
 keeping friends, bullying prevention, empathy, impulse control, respect,
expressing feelings in healthy ways, and making safe choices. 

Small Groups
    Small group counseling opportunities are available for students who may
need extra support in making and keeping friends, using strategies
to 'stop and think' about their choices, managing feelings appropriately,
developing positive self-esteem, and changing families. Students do
not participate in small group counseling without parental permission.

Individual Counseling
    I am also available on a short-term basis to meet with students individually
to support them in further developing skills such as managing feelings,
 conflict resolution, or making safe choices.   If there are times during
the school year that your child is struggling, whether socially, emotionally,
or behaviorally, please do not hesitate to contact me so I can help
support you and your child’s teacher to help your child have a
positive school experience.  If you have any questions or concerns,
